P. DAVID KLAEHN
December 15, 1925 – January 16, 2021

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of P. David Klaehn on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the wonderful age of 95.
Beloved husband of Catherine Cryer and dear father to Karen Landheer, David K. Klaehn and Laura Klaehn (Eli Palachi). Grandfather (PD) to Alex and Karl; and Grandpa to Ethan; and Skylar Palachi.
Brother to Laura Miron (Rob) of Vancouver and Carolynn Honor (Peter) both dcd. Uncle to Gordon (Cathy) & Andrew (Jenn). Cousin to Jill (David C. Klaehn dcd)
Brother-in-Law to James & Evlyn Cryer and uncle and good friend to the entire extended ‘mob’ in Australia and UK.
David was born in Saskatoon. After enlisting in the Royal Canadian Navy at the end of WWII, David graduated B.Comm 1948 from McGill University in Montreal.
He enjoyed a successful career as an Executive for several multi-national corporations, including Avery Label and Litton Industries, which produced many long-lasting friendships going back decades.
In retirement David loved travelling and spent many happy “winters” in Florida, and the Australian summer with a bottle of good Aussie Red.
Grateful thanks to Sunnybrook Palliative Care unit for his last peaceful days.
In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Salvation Army – his favourite charity for over 70 years.

I loved it when David came to drop off or pick up Catherine. He was such a delight to talk to and had lovely twinkly eyes.
