In memory of

Olga "Anyu" Martin

February 25, 1936 -  October 6, 2024

"Anyu" Olga Martin, age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6th at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket after spending her final week surrounded by family - the most important thing in her life. Predeceased by her husband Joseph, sons Charlie & Joe, and her daughter Elizabeth "Teri" (loving wife of Randell "Ren"). She will be dearly missed by her daughter Tina (Frank) and the beautiful families created by her grandchildren: Tracy (Scott) and their daughters Melanie & Sarah; Travis (Cindy) and their children Gabrielle "Gabby" & Benjamin "Benji"; Melissa (Steve) and their children Aidan, Rya & Holden; and Julie (Steve) and their daughters Lena & Devin.

We will be celebrating Anyu’s life on Friday, October 11th at Pine Hills Cemetery & Funeral Centre in Scarborough (625 Birchmount Road) from 12:00-2:30pm with internment to immediately follow. Friends & family are encouraged to dress brightly to honour Anyu's memorable fashion style and her lifelong love of colour & snazzy patterns.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.

Olga was like the grandmother you wish you had. She was like everyone's grandmother. Always welcoming, always loving. Her memory lives on in each of us.

My sincerest condolences and prayers to the family during this difficult time. RIP.

When we first met I didn't think I should call her Anyu. So I asked what her name was and called her Olga for several years.

Our deepest sympathies to the family. I have known Anyu for nearly 20 years (since Stephen annd Julie started dating ) and from the first day I met her she has always been so welcoming. Her love for family and friends was very special.
Even though we weren’t technically related she always made us feel we were family.
She will certainly be missed.
