In memory of

Norris P. Zucchet

October 7, 1950 -  January 29, 2018

ZUCCHET, Norris P. passed away peacefully Monday Jan. 29 at Sunnybrook Hospital, in the arms of his wife of 40 years, Daniela Zucchet (Zussino)
Beloved son of Santina Zucchet and the late Domenico Zucchet, proud father of Ashley (Patrick Logan) and Nolan (Ida)
Cherished nonno to Abby, Georgia and Cameron, Brother to Lida (Aldo Viola) and uncle to Matthew, Alyssa, Shannon (Brenda) and Trisha
Engineer by profession, CEO by orientation and a mentor to many.
An avid but admittedly mediocre golfer, diehard sports fan, lover of fine wines, good food and a strong believer in family dinnertime conversations.
We will forever miss his gentle presence and sound advice.
A private celebration of Norris' life was held at Mt. Pleasant Funeral Centre, a building he designed and built.
Donations can be made to Heart and Stroke or Canadian Cancer Society

Dear Danielle and family,
Our condolences to you and your family on the passing of Norris. We where shocked to hear the sad news.
Throughout the years I have heard so many wonderful things about Norris.
I remember Sam and the boys when they attended university. I also remember the conversations I use to have with Santina at work about her son and how proud she was of him.We later meet you both at Candace and Matthew's wedding. Life is not fair and we will never understand it fully.
I hope you and the family find strength in the memories you have created throughout the years , no one can take those away from you.
Please extend our condolences to Santina as well.
We will keep you all in our prayers.

Dear Ashley and family

It was so sad to hear of the passing of Norris. Norris and I worked together at Peel, played a bit of hockey together, and generally were contemporaries. I last spoke to him on a cemetery issue not so long ago. He was so smart and kind. Though we rarely interacted he was immediately likeable. And I know you loved him a lot. I am really sorry that he is gone. I want you to know that you have my sympathy and support. Big hug from Lauren's dad.

Life Stories

This is not a life story but rather a "poem"'that I wrote in the middle of the night a few days before he died. In it I tried to capture the essence of Norris. I read it aloud at the celebration of his life and a number of people have asked for a copy so here it is.

CRUSHED BY THE LOSS OF YOU
Your logical mind
Your love of wine
Your easy smile
Your classic style
Your business sense
Your love intense
I'm crushed by the loss of you

You're a family man
With ambitios plans
Your unhandy hands
Your ethical stands
Got you into political hot water

Armchair quarterback hanging in tough
Intrepid Leaf fan in a huff
The Sens can have fuckin' Phaneuf!
Bring on the wings
Bring on the beer
The Jays are bound to have a good year

In your youth you were quite the jock
Lover of music, Motown, Blues and Rock
You could boogie and shimmy across the floor
Dancing circles around me
The twist, the jive, the bump and more!

Your curls unfurled to a spiky coif
Your moustache steely grey
Stays as a reminder
Of the man I married that day
My best friend, the father of my children, the mate of my soul
So gentle, loyal and true
I am crushed by the loss of you
