In memory of

Norma Ferne Olver (nee Weaver)

February 12, 1935 -  March 8, 2023

On March 8, 2023 we lost our much-loved Mom and Nanny, Norma. We are grateful that she is now with her Saviour and reunited with her beloved husband John (J.B.) Olver (2013). Norma was a fun and loving mother to Patricia Aitchison (Mark), John (Soula), and Andrea Slater (Gary). A loving Nanny to her grandchildren Andrew (Preston), James, Stephen (Bridget), Sasha, Michael, Leah, and Matthew, and Great-grandmother to Presley. Norma was born in Brantford, Ontario on February 12, 1935, the daughter of Norman and Audrey Weaver and was one of 11 brothers and sisters. She had a strong faith in God and enjoyed singing with numerous church choirs, particularly First Baptist Church in Guelph, throughout her life. Norma will be fondly remembered for her sense of humour and generosity by many friends in Guelph, Oshawa and on the shores of Lake Huron where she and JB spent their retirement years. Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 10 am followed by a celebration of Norma’s life 11 am at THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, 905-579-6787 (South of Taunton Road, enter through gates off Dryden Blvd.) Interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the MS or Alzheimer's Societies of Canada.
