In loving memory

We sadly announce the passing of our beloved dad, Nick Vasilopoulos, 89 years old, of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, the loving husband of Olga Vasilopoulos (Siappas), father to Tommy, John and Lenna and grandfather to Nicholas, Matthew, and Stephen. Nick died peacefully on January 26th, 2026 at his home, with this loving wife by his side.

Nick was born in the village of Bouf in Akrita, Greece on October 15th, 1936 to the parents of Athanasios and Kotsa Vasilopoulos, and his departed brother Done (Danny). He came to Canada at the age of 26 to marry his beloved wife, Olga. He would later be reunited with his family when they all moved to Canada. Nick was an uncle to Jim and Tom Vasilopoulos, Nick and Linda Gagatsis, and Kristen, Jamie and Ben Siappas.

Nick was a hardworking and loving family man who cherished time with his family and friends. When he wasn’t at work at his restaurant, or spending time with this family, he could often be found in the local kafenio visiting many good friends. He enjoyed celebrating all occasions, particularly the holidays, with his bahjo (brother-in-law) Alec and wife Alice (sister-in-law) and their families together. The local community of Boufchani and the Zettoi (friends) brought bountiful fulfillment and joy to Nick’s life. This community was his extended family.

He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. We will keep his spirit and love for life and people forever in our hearts and memories.
