Nicasio B. Syquio

October 11, 1931 -  November 19, 2020

The family of Nicasio B. Syquio announces with great sorrow that he died peacefully on Nov 19, 2020 at the age of 89 after his 15-year battle with prostate cancer.

Nic, as he is fondly called by his family and friends, lived a very fulfilling life. Born in Manila, Philippines on October 11, 1931, he spent most of his career life there working as a key manager for Connell Brothers Philippines and Getz Forwarding Services. As a basketball lover, he spent his free time playing basketball for a community league and coaching a team, later moving to Canada in 1993 and becoming an avid Toronto Raptors fan. In addition to being a devout catholic and role model, Nic was also the greatest husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his loving wife Josefina, who he has been married to for 63 years, his children: Danilo, Joel and Maribel, his children in-laws: Lourdes and Ed, his grandchildren: Michael, Kenneth, Danjo, Erick, Shirley, Jona, Sydney, Michelle and Rochelle and his great grandchildren: Kaizer, Zoie, Keegan and Zach and his sister-in-law Aida. He is predeceased by his parents: Donato and Belen, his siblings: Conrado and Emmanuel, his sister-in-law Herminia, and his daughter-in-law Josephine. As per his wishes, his family and friends have been and will continue to pray for the eternal repose of his soul.

A private cremation service will be held at Meadowvale Cremation Centre, in Brampton, Ontario on November 25, 2020 at 10:00 am.
