In Loving Memory of Nevenka (Nancy) Dobranic
October 2, 1934 – July 2, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Nevenka (Nancy) Dobranic on July 2, 2025, in her home in Oshawa, Ontario, at the age of 90. Born on October 2, 1934, in Zagreb, Croatia, Nevenka brought warmth, kindness, and joy into the lives of all who knew her.
Beloved mother of Cecilija “Mary” (Kerry), Xenia (late Larry), Robert (Rhonda), and Richard. Cherished Baki of Jessica, Jeremy (Devynn), Jennifer (Arnold), and Kristen (Shawn). Treasured great-Baki of Scarlet, Alister, Avery, and Victoria. Nevenka also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family members across Croatia and Canada, as well as her beloved fur babies, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Nevenka will be fondly remembered for her kind heart, loving nature, and radiant smile. Her unwavering devotion to her family was evident in every moment of her life. She touched many with her gentle spirit and left behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the personal support workers who provided such dedicated care, with special thanks to Keneisha, who held a special place in Nevenka’s heart.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, July 10th, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Thornton Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa (south of Taunton Road). Interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nevenka’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
