Myrtle Louise Gallier, 78, died at 9:00 AM, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Providence Healthcare facility in Scarborough, Ontario. She was born April 19, 1939 in St. Catherine, Spanish Town, Jamaica.

Originally a seamstress, she graduated from nursing school in Jamaica and was selected and offered a position in Canada. Myrtle has been a long time resident of Toronto (Scarborough) where she lived since leaving home at the age of 30.

Myrtle is predeceased by her parents, three sisters, and one brother. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Devon and her daughter, Pauline; and loving nieces and nephews. She was a proud grandmother to: Natalie, Julian, Jenelle, Jonathan, Kevon and Krystal; and great-grandmother to: Telia, Liya-Sade, Jaden, Tyleek, Julian, and Sinadine.

One of her hobbies was crotchet where she hand-made numerous table doilies and blankets. Myrtle was known for her amazing cooking. Family and friends always enjoyed her meals with a side of her great sense of humour.

The visitation is from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM on Friday, June 16, 2017 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The burial will be at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre.
