In memory of

關黄如柳太夫人 Mrs. Yu Lau Kwan

December 4, 1927 -  July 24, 2016

Yu Lau Kwan, 88, of Toronto, went to heaven on Sunday, July 24, 2016.

She was born to the late Ong Kew Wong and Yu Ho Seto, on December 4, 1927, in Canton, China. She married her late husband, Ping Lit Kwan in 1949; where they resided in Canton, China, before relocating to Hong Kong in 1956.

Yu Lau was employed as a clothing packer in Hong Kong. She and her late husband worked tirelessly, day and night, to support their five children.

She and her children immigrated to Canada in 1971. In Sudbury, she worked as a kitchen helper. She attended church regularly, and was baptized in 1988. After retiring in 1991, she moved to Toronto to enjoy and cherish quality time with her children and grandchildren.

Yu Lau loved going out, gardening, travelling and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved eating dim sum with her closest sister Choi Wan and family. She was very generous to everyone, but herself. She was very social and loved to meet new people.

Yu Lau is survived by her four children: Winnie, Sandy, Amie and Edward; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Yu Lau’s eldest daughter, Shun Hei, had passed away in 2009.
