Toronto, ON – Moy Oi Jin (Mary Tang Yew), originally from Toishan, China, peacefully passed away on December 26th, 2018 at the Scarborough Grace Hospital.

Born in 1920…mom emigrated to Trinidad & Tobago in January of 1956 to join her future husband, widower Anthony Chin Quan. Together, mom and dad established a very successful business and had 3 children. Anthony passed away in 1973 at the age of 65, survived by his son, Roy from his first marriage, mom, 3 children and grandchildren.

In 1977, mom would re-marry, John Tang Yew, to whom she spent 33 years married to prior to his passing in 2008. As a blended family, mom & dad successfully raised 5 kids, Mary, Tony, Lily, Brian and Ronnie.

Mom’s happiest moments were when the entire family got together; nothing else would bring a bigger smile to her face than at family gatherings. Mom was a strong, determined woman with a heart of gold, very accommodating, always welcoming.

She is survived by her children, Lily, Brian, and Ronald, also by her step children Roderick, John jr., Michael, Mary and Tony. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
