Morag Rose Wright

June 20, 1963 -  October 26, 2025

Morag Rose Wright, aged 62, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26th, 2025, at Mackenzie Health in Vaughan after diabetic complications. She was born June 20, 1963, in Scotland to “Jackie” and Lena (Robertson) Wright.

She worked as a nurse before making her journey to Canada where she met and married Larry Bensky in 1990, before separating. She is survived by her two sons, Jordan and Euan, as well as her siblings: Christine, Neil, Colin, Ian, and their children. She spent years working as an Administrative Assistant in the York Region District School Board where she displayed a talent for building connections and supporting both students and staff. Morag lived a full life, engaging in many different activities and hobbies. She enjoyed working with and riding her horse, Teddy, training and walking her dog, Odin, spending time in her garden, singing, and dancing. She was a daughter, sister, mother, friend, and mentor to many, she will be dearly missed.

A service will be held in the coming weeks, information will be shared on Facebook.

Morag was one of a kind , she will be very sadly missed . She would be so proud of how Euan and Jordan have managed this awful time . I will miss her visits in the summer holidays when we reconnected and had fun . She was my wee sister and I loved her very much Xx

I had the pleasure of working with Morag at two schools. Her desire to what was best for the students filled every day. Even after I left one of the schools, she continued to check in and ask how I was doing. She had a kind heart

I’ve met Morag a few times at the farm near Toronto. Churchill Chimes where I stayed and worked for a few weeks. And she was always very friendly when we met. Sorry to hear that she went to the other side. Hopefully she had a peaceful goodbye. And my condolences go to her family and friends.
