Monica Masters, born on July 28, 1938, Assam India, left us peacefully on May 21, 2025, at the age of 86. She spent her final days in the comfort of her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will be cherished forever. Monica's life was a testament to devotion, in her personal and professional endeavours.

Before moving to Canada, Monica played an essential role as the secretary to the General Manager of Lloyds Bank in Agrabad, Chittagong. Her skills and dedication were evident throughout her career, and upon settling in Canada, she continued to excel as a legal secretary for Robert Westell Patent Lawyer until her retirement. Her work was more than just a job; it was a reflection of her meticulous nature and commitment to excellence.

Monica's greatest achievement was the family she built with her beloved husband, Henry Austin Masters. Married for 67 years, their love story was one of unwavering support and companionship. Together, they raised three wonderful children. Although their son, Russell Andrew Masters, predeceased her, Monica’s love and guidance live on through her surviving children, Sherry Ann Masters , Alan Douglas Masters. Partners Justine Ann Uden and Line Ross.cherished grandchildren Coral, Cristian and Olivia Masters. Monica is survived by her sister Mavis McDermott, along with nieces and nephews. Monica was predeceased by her sister Mary Mitchell and brother Tony Powell. Monica’s love for her family was fierce and unconditional. Her memories will live on in the stories they share and the traditions they carry forward.

A religious woman, Monica’s faith was a quiet but profound aspect of her life, guiding her actions and nurturing her spirit. Her involvement in the community was heartfelt and genuine, particularly through her participation with the Chittagong community. Monica was a loving and caring person, a devoted mother, and a friend who was always ready to listen and support those around her.

Aunty Mona was like a grandmother to me. Our families often used to spend the weekend with her and uncle Henry at their home. Their deck and garden were my playground and from the ages of 2 to 6, we would always celebrate my birthday together. She was a warm hearted, loving person and I will always fondly remember her.

Love,
Asad
