In memory of

Monica Margaret Alexander

January 15, 1942 -  July 9, 2025

It is with great sorrow we announce the unexpected passing of Monica (Scottie) Margaret Alexander on July 9, 2025, at the age of 83, at Michael Garron Hospital, in Toronto, Ontario. Born January 15, 1942, in Grenville Grenada, West Indies.

The daughter of predeceased Nessey and Martin Alexander. Dearly loved by her daughter Rosel Reid, predeceased grandson Liam, granddaughter Asia, and grandson Jack. Dearly remembered by son-in-law Thomas and son-like nephew Hilton. Monica was a devoted sister to Emilina, and predeceased Alexandria, Adolphus, David, and Sylvester. Loving aunt to Amanda, Collins, Denise, Esme, Fletcher, Abby, and predeceased Jude, Rosa, and Sharon. As well as treasured friends that were more like family, and countless others.

Monica was known for her warm spirit, generous heart, and love of cooking, gardening, and fashion. She came to Canada with courage and hope, building a life rooted in love and care — not only for her family but for everyone around her.

Monica cherished her community deeply. She had a kind word for every passerby, a helping hand for anyone in need, and a heart that embraced all with compassion. Her neighbours were her extended family, and her presence lit up every gathering with grace and laughter.

Please join us to celebrate her life with family and friends.

The service will be officiated by Minister Debbie Frederick (Monica’s Grandniece)

With heartfelt thanks, the Family of Monica Margaret Alexander.

Monica was a dear friend who over 40 plus years became part of our family. Seldom, if ever in my 78 years, have I had the honor of meeting a person with such a pure and good heart. Monica was that person. My family and I will miss her so much. She and I spoke on the phone every few weeks and I so will miss those calls. May her memory be a blessing and a comfort to us all.

Auntie Scottie It’s hard to put into words how much you meant to me. Your warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. I will forever cherish the memories we shared, your laugh, your stories, when you came to London. You walked with me to the bus stop every morning before work, waiting with me until the bus arrived. You were always ready before I was, making sure I got off to a good start each day. That small act of care meant so much more than words could ever say.

Though you're no longer with us in body, your spirit lives on in our hearts. Thank you for everything. You are deeply missed and forever loved.

With all my love,
Esme
