In memory of

Mohinder Singh Johal

March 15, 1937 -  February 26, 2018

My father was born on March 15 1937 at his village Jandiala in India, to Najer Singh and Bant Kaur.
He had 5 siblings, 3 sisters (Darshan Kaur, Harbans Kaur, & Balbir Kaur) and 2 brothers (Gurmej Singh & Amarjit Singh).
He was about the age of 5 when he started working on his family farm in Jandiala. He worked as a farmer all of his life in India.

On September 12 1972 he came to Victoria Island in British Columbia. Since then lived the remainder of his life in Canada.
As an immigrant it was very hard to start a life on a foreign land. He overcame the struggles and settled in Toronto.
He worked on farms in BC and in factories in Toronto.

My father spent the remainder of his life In Brampton and finally Brantford.

My dad, my hero.
On February 26, my dad lost his battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Moments that became memories in a shocking moment.
Dad your journey has taught me that life is unpredictable.
You were my biggest fan, my support system. I now have this ache with no cure. I now understand what others used to talk about after loosing a parent.
But dad,
Whatever I am today is because of you. You gave me so so much in these past almost 28 years.
You have taught me everything I need to know to live this life.
Thank you
Even though I’ll never see you again, you live on through who I am.
