In memory of

Mirko Kosic

March 23, 1940 -  December 25, 2022

On his way to a Caribbean cruise, Mirko was struck by a car while crossing the street in Florida. He died two days later in the presence of his beloved wife and children, never having regained consciousness.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Mirjana, and their children Ben and Michael (Malini). His grandchildren Martin, James, Victor, Sasha, and Clove were the Jewels of his life and he shared a wonderful family celebration with them just 24 hours before his accident.

Mirko and Mirjana immigrated to Toronto in 1968 from Novi Sad, Serbia and lived a Canadian dream. Mirko worked 25 years as an architect for the Ontario Government before retiring and continuing to serve as a real-estate agent for his community.

His jovial demeanor had him making friends wherever he was, his love of life and nature swept his family into Ontario lake life, camping in his early days, then living right on Lake Couchiching in Orillia in retirement.

Mirko’s huge heart, kindness and generosity touched the lives of so many throughout his long life. He will be dearly missed.

Rather than sending flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Couchiching Conservancy at https://couchichingconserv.ca/donate/

We will always have the music ( and the Stereo) to remember you. There may be a Mirko shaped hole now in our world and Your presence will be missed but not your big love because it’s safe in my heart forever!

My deepest condolences to the whole family especially Mrs. Kosic,

I still remember the first time I met Mr. Kosic when he came into Mike's bedroom in the Dundonald house when Mike and I were in high school. He also introduced me to the delicacies of Yugoslavian cuisine and drinks.

He had a great personality and was a very wise man as anyone would see it reflected in how Ben and Mike would conduct themselves. I still remember him sitting in his favourite chair, always getting listening to music and showing off his epic sound system and his intricate wiring methods.

I'll end this with my favourite Irish prayer:

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

With loving thoughts,
Sumer
