Mirjana Rajic
April 18, 1936 -
March 3, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mirjana “Myra” Rajic on Thursday March 3, 2022 in Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 85. Beloved and cherished mother to Michael (Milenko) Rajic and Alexander Rajic. Mother-in-law to Wendy Rajic (nee Urquhart). Loving grandmother to Kylie and Sarah Rajic. She also leaves behind her treasured sister, Alexandra “Sasha” Dodic, whose love, devotion, and companionship were valued beyond measure. Her many nieces, nephews, & their children will always remember her with love and affection. She is predeceased by her parents, Anatoly Korobko and Angelina (nee Coric), sister, Dusanka Banks (nee Bilbija), and brothers Dusan and Drago Bilbija.
Mirjana was born in the small town of Jajce in the former Yugoslavia on April 18, 1936. Moving to Manchester, England with her mother and sister, Sasha, in 1950 to be with her father who emigrated to England after WWII in 1948. Myra then emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1955 with her parents and sister, later marrying Fedor Rajic (dec. 2012) in 1957, and finally settling in Windsor, Ontario that same year. Remaining sister and two brothers eventually emigrated to Toronto, Canada in the late 1950’s and mid 1960’s, where the whole family was reunited once again. Michael was born in August, 1962 and Alexander in June, 1969. In 1992, she moved back to Toronto to be with her family.
Family and friends were most important to her during her life and will always be remembered for her kindness, selflessness, wit, and her ability to make people laugh and feel special. As many family and friends have said…....she was the life of the party! Myra loved entertaining at her home in Windsor and was always like a second mother to her son's friends and many nieces and nephews. Her home was loving, inviting and open to all. Traveling was of special interest to her as well experiencing different cultures, and many of us were fortunate enough to be with her when she did. Whether it was spending time at Lake Simcoe with the reunited family during the early years, in Muskoka in later years with her children, mother, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, friends, or her cherished time in Windsor and Toronto......nothing made her more happy than being surrounded by those who loved her. She is at rest and in peace now. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her, but never forgotten and forever in our hearts. We all love you.
