It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Milorad Zekanovic, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, who departed this life at the age of 74.

Born in Republika Srpska in 1950, Milorad immigrated to Canada in 1974. Soon after arriving, he married Jelka, and together they built a life and raised a family.

A skilled carpenter by trade, Milorad had a deep love for working with his hands. His craftsmanship was evident both in his professional work and in the many projects he completed at home

Milorad was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. With a quiet strength and steady presence, he was always the first to lend a helping hand.

He is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his son Petar, his daughter Tanja, his son-in-law Pavle, his cherished granddaughter Emma, his grandson Kristofer, his brother Branko and his brother Vojan.

He now joins his late wife Jelka, in eternal peace.

Visitation will be held on Friday June 6, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday June 7 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at York Funeral Centre (160 Beecroft Road, Toronto M2N 5Z5). The funeral service will take place on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. following the visitation. A reception will take place following the burial, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., also at York Funeral Centre.
