Mieczyslaw Derewonko

Mieczyslaw "Mitch" Kazimierz Derewonko died peacefully in Scarborough General Hospital on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the age of 60.
Mitch will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 38 years, Laura and his children, Tomasz (Tonia), Marek (Kristin), Michael. Mitch will also be fondly remembered by his two grandchildren, Jacob and Benjamin, by his bothers, Zbiegniew, Miroslaw, Krzysztof, Mariusz and by his sister Alicja.
Mitch was born on August 6, 1957 in Stargard Szczecinski, Poland to Jozefa and Kazimierz. He graduated from Maritime University of Szczecin in 1982with a degree in mechanical engineering. He married Laura, his elementary school sweetheart in 1980. After moving to Canada, Mitch redirected his career and became a cabinet maker to support his young family.
Visitation for Mitch will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 12:30 p.m., at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre - 375 Mount Pleasant Road. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mitch’s life.
A private family Funeral Service in memory of Mitch will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centres. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Mitch to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I am one with you in your loss and sorrow. Someone as extraordinary and incredible as my uncle will never be forgotten. It was an honour to know him and have him be such an important part of my childhood. I will always cherish my memories of him and I will always, always miss him.
