In memory of

Michele Mei-Zei Leung

October 18, 1972 -  June 2, 2024

With her family and close friends by her side, Michele passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Health Centre on June 2, 2024. Michele was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and raised in Toronto, Ontario.

She will be remembered as a loving daughter to Michael and Agnes; sister to Andre (Ada) and Adrian (Heidi); aunt to Caitlin and Lucas; and by her many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to thank the health care providers at St. Michael’s Hospital, EW Bickle Centre for Complex Continuing Care, and St. Joseph’s Health Centre for their kindness and compassionate care over the past three years.

Most of us hope to live a full life, and we are comforted knowing that Michele lived and loved life to the fullest. She was usually up to something or off to somewhere and was a model for us on how to make the most of life.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Toronto, M1K 1R1 on Friday, June 7, 2024. The Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service that will commence at 10:30 a.m., with a Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael’s Hospital – Neurosurgery Clinic at: https://secure3.convio.net/smh/site/Donation2?df_id=6089&6089.donation=form1&mfc_pref=T.

Michele was a close friend of mine, we travelled, drank, ate, and partied together. She used to live near me during our younger years where a path connected our houses. We met up for walks and gossiping after work. Planned get togethers with friends, hung out at bubble tea shops playing cards, and shopped till we dropped. After moving overseas, she came to visit me and she often talked fondly about her niece, nephew, her parents and Idris….her best friend. She is extremely kind, thoughtful and always up for a fun time. I am so glad to have gotten to know her so well over the past 20 years. I know she’s in a better place making new friends, looking at us as she smiles and laughs. We will miss you Michele!!
