VISSER, Michael "Minne" October 22, 1930 - October 13, 2017 Michael Visser passed away peacefully, listening to classical music, with family by his bedside after suffering a significant stroke two weeks previous. He was born in Paesens, Friesland, the Netherlands the eldest of 11 children and immigrated to Canada in 1954. Michael was predeceased by his first wife Alice Smith with whom he had children Karen, Derek and Cheryl. He leaves behind his second wife Patricia Visser and their daughter Leah. He was a great step father to Patricia's now deceased sons Bruce, Phil and Paul as well as her surviving children Victor and Ruth. Michael was predeceased by his parents Nuttes Minnes Visser and Riemke Jinnes Meinema and siblings Minne Nuttes, Antje "Anne", Jinne "Jim", Dirk "Dick" and is survived by siblings Grietje 'Griet', Wietse "Bill", Anne "Andy", Nutte "Norm" Nuttes, Maria "Mary" and Riemke "Rhea". We are celebrating his birthday and memory in the Bain Co-Op Community Centre (100 Bain Avenue at Logan) with a celebration of his birth and life this Sunday, October 22nd from 2-7 p.m. for family, friends and neighbours. Michael will be interred at the St. James Cemetery at a later date. Donations can be made in his name to the Michael Garron Hospital, Alzheimer Society of Toronto, or a local wildlife or naturalist charity.

I love you dad and I'm glad that we had a great summer together. Better yet I'm glad for everything that you gave me - almost everything I needed to become the strong and independent woman I am today. I'm sad you're not here but happy to have spent the time together while we had it.
