In memory of

Maurice Weaver

December 20, 1920 -  January 27, 2018

Maurice Weaver passed away on January 27th, 2018, at Michael Garron Hospital, in his 97th year. Cherished husband of Muriel for 72 years. Beloved father of Doug (Francine), Dan and Maureen. Loving granddad of Craig, Alicia, Carly, Courtney, Caitlin, Ryan and Kristin, and five great grandchildren Robyn, Ben, Evan, Aurora and Avery. Brother of Grace Finnegan (Bob) and the late Olive Rickersey (Tom), Amy Durloo (Peter) and Raymond Weaver (Joyce). Brother-in-law to Norman Campbell (Dawn), and the late David Campbell (Pat), Sharman Campbell (Anita), James Campbell (Peggy), Elizabeth Gibbs (Al), and Doreen Sanderson (Sandy).

Maurice, born in Port Colborne, lived and worked there until joining the air force. After his years of service, Maurice and his best friend Yves Cam co-founded the business, Speedy Parcel Delivery, now known as Speedy Transport.

Family gatherings of the Weaver and Campbell families were special times for Maurice, times when he would happily engage in camping, sports, BBQs, horseshoes and discussions about politics. He extended his interest in baseball by coaching minor baseball teams at Bantam and Junior levels and by faithfully watching his sons play hockey and football. Living on Linton Avenue for 64 years created long life friendships and rich memories with neighbours.

In retirement years, Maurice and Muriel travelled and enjoyed quality time with their grandchildren. Dancing on Saturday nights was a favorite pastime for Maurice and Muriel at Birkdale Community Centre along with many long-time friends.

Family and friends will be welcomed at the MT. PLEASANT FUNERAL CENTRE, 375 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Toronto. Visitation on Wednesday, January 31st, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 1st, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. The service will take place at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations made to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
