In memory of

Maureen Teresa Howarth

January 13, 1937 -  December 9, 2020

HOWARTH, Maureen (nee Dennis)

Maureen passed away peacefully at age 83 in Brampton on December 9th, 2020. Maureen was the loving, patient, and devoted wife to Peter Howarth and dedicated mother to her children - Jeannine (Francis LeBouthillier) of Toronto; Shelly (Lou Ferreira) of Brampton; Celeste (Tim Malonie) of Toronto and Jay (Debbie Ferreira) of Barrie. Maureen was an amazing and doting “Nana” to Jake, Zoe, Maddie, Hayden, Aurora & Emma. She will be fondly remembered by her brother Bill (Grace) Dennis, sister Helen (Hugh) Fraser and brother-in-law Brian Howarth (Kathy), along with her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Irene & Corridan Dennis, as well as her sisters Pat, Jeanie, & Marie.

Maureen was a lover of bowling, basketball, and travelling the world. She was an incredible baker who created connection and warmth with all through the comfort of her delicious meals and desserts. She believed there could never been enough food on the table and there was always a “doggy bag” to take home. Maureen brought heart and kindness to all she met and was admired for her efficient, dedicated administrative work with St. Anthony’s Parish in Brampton for over 20 years. To many of her children’s friends she was known as their second Mom. Those who were blessed to know her, remember her lovely smile that lit up her face and that mischievous glint in her eye that usually came along with a witty pointed retort.

Maureen will be so dearly missed and always loved by her family and friends.

Maureen’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to those special caregivers that tenderly cared for her in her final years. Due to current Covid restrictions, a private family service will be held on Monday, December 14th, 2020. A celebration of Maureen’s life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Alzheimer Society of Peel would be appreciated. Condolences may be shared on the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre website www.mountpleasantgroup.com

Peter & Family
Our heartfelt condolences to you all. We have been very close friends to Maureen and Peter for 53 years and have had good times together with both our families. She was an amazing person, a wonderful hostess, a great cook and baker, and always sent us home with her butter tarts which she was well known for. Our thoughts are with you all and we miss her already. Love you Maureen.
