In memory of

Mary Sadeghi

February 14, 1943 -  September 27, 2020

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Mary (Mehri, Mahry) Sadeghi left us on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the age of 77, after an 11 month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born, raised and married in Esfahan (Iran), pursued a university degree in science while raising her children and eventually achieved a successful professional status as a chemist in the steel and petrochemical industries. With these impressive accomplishments in a male dominated 60’s and 70’s society of Iran, she was recognized as one of the pioneer women of Iran. Mary dedicated herself to the well being of her family and career despite the turmoil of the revolution and war in the 80’s Iran. For the safety and a brighter future for her children, she immigrated to Canada in 1986 where she built a new life, initially running a successful business followed by a career in real estate.

She loved life, gardening, painting and above all, her family and friends. Mary was a member of the Richmond Hill Garden & Horticultural, Toronto Watercolor and Southern Ontario Orchid societies and loved participating in painting shows, as well as annual garden shows at her house. She will be remembered as a role model for women and for her strength, intellect, beauty, smile, kindness, and willingness to help others. She expressed great gratitude for the care and support of her oncologist Dr. O’Kane and the team at PMH. It was her wish to support research in pancreatic cancer, with the hope that others would not have to suffer from this deadly disease in the future.

Nooshin Niko (Mehrdad's highschool classmate and friend)

Entered October 5, 2020 from Vancouver, BC

Years ago while we were still in highschool, I heard that Mehrdad was blessed with having a professional mother who was in engineering firm but just learned more about this caring and lovable lady: there is a lot more to be proud of her!
My deepest condolences to the Sadeghi Family for this big loss.
May her beautiful soul rest in peace.
