In memory of

Mary Relyea

November 2, 1923 -  March 18, 2017

Mary Relyea (Mara Nada Miloskovich) – born on November 2, 1923 in Toronto, passed away on March 18, 2017. Mary’s sparkling, brown eyes closed for the last time in the 93rd year of a long and well-lived life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and close friend to many. Married for 46 years to Bill, a friend from childhood, who predeceased her. Bill owned a construction company and Mary ran the office, managed the house, nurtured the three boys and handled the busy to and fro of life. She delighted in her six grandchildren, telling stories of Toronto’s past, looking into everyone’s horoscopes and sharing her love of music. Mary enjoyed many summers at a hobby farm in Cayuga growing strawberries, other fruits and vegetables. She always had time to chat with friends and kept in touch with relatives in Europe and the United States. Mary loved to laugh heartily at TV comedians but was also ready to give sound advice about finance or other serious topic. Mary was one of the founding members of the women’s auxiliary at the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Toronto (built by husband Bill).
Heartfelt thanks go to the staff at Humber Heights retirement home and the staff at Humber Regional Hospital. Mary is survived by her son Steven, wife Anna and grandsons Michael and Kevin, son Ron, wife Janine and granddaughter Nicole and grandson Christopher, and son Glen, wife Anne Marie and granddaughters Erin and Bridget. Mary was predeceased by her sister Jenny and her brother, George. Visitation will be held at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd., North York from 10:30 a.m. to 12 Noon on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Funeral service will be celebrated immediately after with interment to follow. A reception will be held at the York Funeral Centre.
