Mary Charles Quick Cameron

March 26, 1923 -  May 25, 2021

We are sad to announce the passing of Mary Charles Quick Cameron of Lynde Creek Retirement Home on May 25 at 11:30 AM.

Mary was in her 99th year and was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Donald Cameron. Mary was mother to Glen (Linda), Patricia (David) and Neil (Diane). Grandmother to Graeme (Louise), Dawn (Tony), Heather (Alex), Keith and Janice. Great Grandmother or Nanana to Aoife, Thira, Freya, Annabelle and Cameron.

Mary was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, on March 26, 1923 of parents Mary and Fred Smith. Mary lived through the great depression. She lived, worked and was married during World War 2. In May of 1953 Mary immigrated from Glasgow, Scotland to Toronto, Canada with her husband, children and mother. Mary worked for many years at The T. Eaton Co. and Bell Canada. After retirement Mary and her husband travelled extensively around North America in their RV and also managed trips to Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand and Europe.

Mary was talented in her needlework, knitting, crocheting and bunka. Her family will always enjoy many pieces of her work. She was a very social lady and enjoyed the company of her many friends.

In her later years Mary had severe arthritis and was confined to a wheelchair.

During these pandemic times there will be no memorial service. Following cremation, Mary’s ashes will be scattered with Don’s in the Rose Garden of Mount Pleasant Cemetery

Pat, Glen, Neil and all your families:
We met your parents in 1999 when we were marketing Lynde Creek Village before construction began. Eventually, we became neighbours on Dabbs Way and she attended Whitby Baptist Church with us for several years after your Dad died. We have visited her often at Lynde Creek Manor and attended social and exercise activities together. My many phone calls to her hopefully made a difference in the isolation of the past year. We will miss her and her optimism for everything in life. She has left her imprint on our hearts. We prayed Mary into God's arms and she is safe and secure in His care with your Dad. We mourn with you.
Love, Mair and Denny

My sincere condolences to all of Mary’s family, I’ve had the pleasure of servicing Mary’s “hair”needs at the Manor for the last 4 years, she was an incredible and amazing woman, I enjoyed her many stories. I will truly miss our special time together every week, may your memories bring you peace and love during your sorrow.
