Marsha McWhinnie

August 1, 1945 -  August 21, 2022

Marsha McWhinnie (nee Kravitz) passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2022, at the age of 77.
She is lovingly remembered by Jim her husband of 50 years. By her children Annie (Kevin Watson), Diane (Howard Richardson), Paul and his son Torulv and family.
She will be missed by her nieces and nephews Elly Winer (Jane Hargraft), Aviva Gottlieb (Matthew), Michael Winer (Rachel) and great nieces Jessica, Allison, Rachel, and Eleanor.
She will also be missed by Jim’s brother Tommy (Veronica) and their children in Ireland. And by Jim’s cousin Bob (Mary) and their children in Toronto.
She was predeceased by her daughter Jeannie, her sister Elaine and brother-in-law Lou Winer, her mother Clara (nee Reisman) and father Joseph Kravitz.
Born in Toronto on August 1, 1945, she loved her life as a pharmacist and travelling, art, theatre, playing golf and mahjong. She was the most positive, kind, caring, beautiful, sparkling, and fun woman. She lit up every room she entered and brought joy to everyone she met.
She co-founded and was director of the Canadian Amyloidosis Support Network (CASN) and survived 22 years with that disease through the great work of the medical staff led by Dr. Donna Reece at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to www.supportthepmcf.ca or call 416-946-6560 and please allocate to the Amyloidosis Research and Awareness Fund.
A celebration of her life will be held at York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd. on Monday August 29th at 10:30am with reception to follow. Online condolences and livestream information can be made at www.etouch.ca

Marsha was a woman of valour. She was kind knowledgeable and always willing to help. Marsha never complained..I complained and she listened. She was so helpful when I received my Multiple Myeloma diagnosis.
Marsha loved her family dearly but never bragged.
John and I extend our deepest condolences to Jim, Annie, and the whole family. We were all lucky to have had Narsh in our lives!
