In memory of

Mario Nievera Nobleza

September 22, 1947 -  June 30, 2018

Mario Nievera Nobleza found his time to rest in his 71st year on Saturday, June 30, 2018 in Oshawa, Ontario. Predeceased by his parents Ramon Nobleza and Magdalena Nievera and siblings Corazon, Ramon Jr., George, Cesar, Flora, and Irene. Survived by sister Clara. Loving husband of Leticia Salamat Nobleza. Strong and dedicated father of Marlon Solomon, Mariezel Nobleza Nicdao, and Mark Nobleza. Father-in-law to Kevin Slack, Richard Nicdao, and Monica Ku. Proud Lolo of Alexis, Emily, and baby Nicdao.

Mario Nobleza was born in Manila, Philippines with eight siblings. Quietly capable and ever adaptable, Mario followed his own rules and made his own way. In the Philippines, as a young man, he set out on an early military career and later worked as a machine mechanic and for Pepsi Cola. In 1980 he emigrated to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to build a new life for his family. After moving to the Toronto area, Mario worked as a health care aide, and in the hospitality industry for Holiday Inn and Sheraton Hotel.

Mario was ever-curious about spirituality. He enjoyed watching the horse races, spending time with his grandchildren, telling stories about his life in the Philippines. And he loved his coffee.

A celebration of Mario's life will be held at Thornton Funeral Centre, Oshawa - 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa ON L1J 0C9 - on Sunday, July 8 from 12 noon until 4pm.

A special thank you to the staff at Lakeridge Health for their exceptional care and to Thornton Funeral Centre.
