In memory of

Maria Sacramento Pereira

September 11, 1938 -  December 1, 2021

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our family matriarch, Maria de Sacramento Pacheco Pereira on December 1st, 2021 with family at her side.

Maria was born in Sao Miguel, Acores on September 11, 1938. She married the love of her life Jonas Pereira and together they embarked on a new life in Mississauga, Ontario with their young family. Maria will forever be missed and appreciated by her children, Tony (Anita), Leonor (Joe), Zelia (Dan) and Linda (Dante).

She took great pride in looking after her grandkids and was a second mother to many of them. Her calm presence, loving nature and devotion to her family will always be cherished by Jamie, David (Chantelle), Denis (Autumn), Jonas, Jesse, Jordan, Nicholas, Mason and Kaitlyn. Vavo as she was affectionately called was also a loving great grandmother to Isabella, Jax, Jace, Munroe and Lucca.

Vavo was a strong woman who handled any hardship with pure grace. Never one to ever complain, she loved the simple pleasures of a warm coffee, a spritz of perfume in the morning, looking out at the lake from the cottage window and any Steven Seagal movie. Quite simply, she loved to be in the company of her family and was always kind.

We take comfort that she is now at peace and reunited with her husband Jonas and her dog Shirley.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the heart and stroke foundation in memory of our beloved Mom and Avo.

We welcome you to leave a message of condolence or memory in the guestbook

She was a kind Great Grandmother, Grandmother, mother, mentor and a friend.
The world was a better place with her in it.
She would lend an ear and never be judgmental, and would offer any help she could.
She was truly loved by all that knew her.
We will miss you.
Rest In peace with dad.
We love you.
Xoxo
