Aunt Marie was born in the beautiful country of Guyana on the 4th November, 1938, and was the eldest daughter and one of 5 children to the late Basmottie and Bindranauth Doobay. She was the sister of Margaret Uddin Chaudhry, Sylvia Kamkin and the late Norman and Balin Doobay. Mother to Cecil, Coreen, Maria, Anthony and the late John. Grandma of 13 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Paul Russel.

She lived her life with optimism, joy and grace, always looking for the good in people and taking life’s challenges in her stride. She was a role model for family values, love for the church and living life to the full.
