Tilde passed away peacefully with her loving sister Lucia at her side on Sunday, July 23 after a brief battle with cancer at Sunnybrook Hospital. At long last, she has been reunited with Santino, her first love and cherished husband of 57 years. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten by her devoted son, Sandro, daughter-in-law Irene and grandsons Nicholas and Jeffrey (Liz). Tilde is survived by her loving sister Lucia and niece Donna. Beloved Nonna Pasta to her great-grandchildren Marissa, Victoria and Joseph, Tilde will be fondly remembered by Dave (Ada), grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tilde will be forever in the hearts of many friends and family here and in Italy who shared in her life and provided support and never-ending love. A special thank you to the Oncology nursing and palliative care staff for their compassion, care and support in our time of need. Thank you to Dr. Osborne, Dr. Willows and Dr. Brown for their sensitivity and compassion. Family and friends can be received at Pine Hills Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Rd, Scarborough (Birchmount Road & St. Clair Avenue) on Wednesday July 26, 2017 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Visitation will be held also on Thursday July 26, 2017 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the CNIB and/or The Canadian Cancer Society.
