Maria Manuela Ferreira Teves, 73, passed away suddenly on Friday February 5, 2021 at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, ON, due to complications from a heart attack. She was born January 20, 1948 in Sao Miguel, Açores. She was the daughter of the late Manuel Ferreira and Maria Joanna DaCosta Ferreira.

She is survived by her husband, Manuel Teves, two sons, Stephen and Bruce, and daughter Tanya, five grandchildren, Samantha, Marlena, Scotty, Brian, and Stephen, and six great grandchildren, Amiyah, Lanessah, Geovanni, Joziah, Jeremiah, and Emmanuel.

She loved cooking, throwing parties, gardening, crocheting, music, taking care of her family and a good laugh over coffee with friends. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of the family.

Maria will be remembered as a selfless, altruistic, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who always had a smile, even when times were tough. She had a fierce strength about her that only took second place to her meekness and humility. Through her perseverance, we (whose life she touched) are inspired to continue on as if she would. She never complained and always looked to a better future. May you rest in peace knowing that you will always be cherished and loved.
