MacStravick, Maria
Passed away suddenly at home in Oakville, on Sunday Oct, 14 in her 50th year.
Maria was the deeply-loved daughter of Charles (dec'd) and Maria MacStravick and loving little sister of Ronald, David, Evelyn and Susan.
She was a generous and always-laughing Aunt and favourite baby-sitter to Eric, Kevin, Michael, Christopher, Jason, Matthew, Stephen, Leah, Ryan and Sarah. Her humour and presence will be missed by her brothers-in-law Peter and Larry and family and friends in Canada, California, Australia, New Zealand and in Scotland.
Her absence will be felt by her loyal Yorkie CJ, who was at her side when she passed and whom she loved and cherished for twelve years.
Maria was born in Bothwell, Scotland on May 5, 1962 and later came to Canada with her family and settled in West Hill, where she graduated from Oliver Mowat High School flourishing into a confident and beautiful young woman.
She is remembered fondly by her many friends, suppliers and collaborators from her 20 year career in the marketing communications industry. During her years as Production Manager of The Mariposa Group and Sonar Group, her many acts of personal and professional generosity and kindness to friends, clients and suppliers are well-remembered and earned her professional respect throughout the industry.
She will be missed, never forgotten and always, always loved.
For those who wish to remember Maria, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, you make a donation in her name to The Hospital for Sick Children or The Oakville Humane Society.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Simple Alternative, 1057 Brock Road in Pickering from 1:00pm – 4:00pm on Saturday Oct. 27, 2012.
