Maria Gabriela Baldor

July 26, 1963 -  May 16, 2018

Gabriela Maria Baldor was born and raised in Buenos Aires, the second of three sisters. She majored in early childhood education at the Universidad del Salvador and then went on to earn a degree in psychology at the University of Buenos Aires. After finishing her university education, Gabi emigrated to Canada. She learned English quickly and worked with great dedication at various institutions helping Children and families, including refugees. Gabi pursued not only academic studies but also enjoyed exploring healing arts, meditation and reiki. Her greatest love was her son Christopher. Her just, creative, and noble spirit will always stay with us.

Gabriela Baldor (Gabi) nació en Buenos Aires, Argentina, la segunda de tres hermanas. Se recibió de maestra jardinera en la Universidad del Salvador y de psicóloga en la Univerdidad de Buenos Aires. Emigró a Canadá a comienzo de los añós 90 después de haber terminado sus estudios universitarios en Argentina. En poco tiempo adquirió fluidez en el idioma inglés, lo que le permitió trabajar en areas de responsabilidad social, incluyendo asistencia a familias de refugiados, especialmente niños.
El gran amor de su vida fue su hijo Christopher.
Su espíritu noble, justo y creativo estará siempre en nuestros corazones.

Dear Nick, Christopher, Julia and May. My deepest condolences for your loss. It was a privilege to get to know Gabriela these past few years through our Ovarian Cancer Support Group. She was a devoted friend and, regardless of her her own pain and worries, she had the ability to empathize and support others dealing with cancer. Gabriela was also quick-witted and could always see the humour in things and shared her laughter easily. I will miss Gabriela and our talks so very much. She will always be in my heart. May you find comfort in her release from this cruel disease. My heart and prayers are with you all.

Gabi era muy inteligente y yo hacia tareas con ella porque era muy obsesiva y tomaba notas muy detalladas. Se ponia unos panuelos muy lindos/rusticos en el invierno para cubrir su garganta/ y hablaba mucho de su tia y Migue.
