In memory of

Margaret Phillips

February 18, 1923 -  December 4, 2019

With profound sadness we announce the passing of our loving and devoted mother, Margaret. At the age of 96 she passed away peacefully with family at her side, Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Extendicare, Oshawa. Margaret was born February 18, 1923 in Dundee, Scotland. She came to Canada with her parents and two sisters at the age of three. Predeceased by her parents Harry and MaryAnn Seivwright. Margaret was the beloved wife of the late James George Phillips. Much loved mother of Sheila Priest, Laurie Beauclair, Dana Phillips, and Kim White, and mother-in-law to Arthur Priest and George White. Cherished Grandmother of Aidan Phillips Morris, Jason, Ryan, and Kira White, Jamie and Lisa Priest, and Tara, John, and Melanie Beauclair. Dear sister of the late Jean Wright and the late Mary Emmett. Margaret lived a long and full life as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had many beloved friends in both Toronto and Oshawa. She was a long-time employee of the Bank of Nova Scotia for 27 years. Mom was a strong, determined, and fiercely independent woman. She fought bravely to the end. We will miss her every day, she was a wonderful mother. Special thanks to the wonderful, compassionate, and caring people who work at Extendicare, Park Road, Oshawa, particularly the ladies and gentlemen who work on the third floor - namely Tammy, Breanna, Jenese, Autumn, Shirley, Christine, Daniel, Melanie, Armi, and all those who provided our mother with compassionate, loving, and invaluable care over the past almost two years.
A small family service will be held at Simple Alternatives, Brock Road, Pickering, on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, reception at 11 a.m. and service at 12 noon.

Hey Mom; It’s only been a day, but missing you already. I will miss going to your little home away from home. You hung in like a trooper, I’m proud to say I’m your daughter.
I hope you are in peace now, hanging out with Dad like you had hoped for, and of course the rest of your clan. Say ‘hi’ for me!
Rest in peace Mom, and you will be in my heart forever!
Love Dana

Dear Mom,
It’s never easy saying good-bye but you are at rest and with the ones you love and have not seen in quite a while. You will always shine in the hearts of us that are left behind. We thank you for all you have taught and shared with us through your life.
We miss you and until we meet again on some sunny day.
Love Always,
Kim and George

Dear Dana
Your love and care of your Mom was very special and precious. Surely she loved your daily visits and the joy you brought into her room. She was blessed to have you as a daughter.

Dear Aidan
May all the happy memories of the times spent with your Grandmother allow her to live forever in your heart, soul, and mind. Just looking at the picture of your Grandmother opening a present at Christmas shows me how happy she was to be with her family. That's special.
