In memory of

Margaret Grace Rindfleisch

January 2, 1938 -  May 12, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Margaret Grace Rindfleisch (nee Howell), also lovingly known to many as Gay. Mom at the age of 87 passed away gently, with family by her side, on May 12th, 2025, in the serene setting of Bethell Hospice in Caledon, Ontario. Born on January 2nd, 1938, Margaret lived a life filled with passion, kindness, and unwavering strength.

Margaret possessed a deep connection to the natural world. Her love for gardening was evident in the beautiful English-style gardens she cultivated, a testament to her care and attention to detail. Mom held a special place in her heart for her animals, having shared her life with many beloved pets. This love extended further as she continuously supported domestic animal shelters along with numerous wildlife foundations worldwide.

An avid reader, Mom could always be found with a novel in hand, often completing one each week. She also enjoyed the mental stimulation of crossword puzzles, word searches, and staying informed through her daily newspapers.

Margaret retired at the age of 55 after a successful career as International Traffic Manager at Canadian Tire. Deeply committed to her civic duty, Mom dedicated her time to working at polling stations during every federal election, firmly believing in the power of every vote. As a strong advocate for women's rights, having raised her three children independently, she instilled in them a sense of resilience and equality. Mom had a remarkable ability to see the good in everyone she met, approaching the world with an open, strong and compassionate heart.

She will be deeply missed by her loving family: daughter Jacqueline Gay Miszczuk and her husband Robert, along with their children Raylin Grace and Robert Sydney; son Campbell Howell Rindfleisch and his wife Tina, and their children Campbell Adam and Ileah Ray; and daughter Tracey Ann Marshall and her husband Timothy, and their children Paige Jacqueline and Owen Timothy. She also leaves behind her stepdaughter Kay Bergstrom. Margaret was predeceased by her loving partner of 29 years, Robert Bergstrom, who passed away in January 2019.

With love, we invite you and your families to join us in a reception celebrating Mom's life at Meadowvale Funeral Centre, located at 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton, on Thursday, May 15th, between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Your presence and shared memories would be a comfort to us all.

We are so very sad for your loss. The announcement was forwarded to me on What’sApp, which unfortunately, I had removed from my phone so we are just reading about Gay’s passing today.
Your Mom was such a good friend of ours and we have so many happy memories of time spent together, from wine tastings in her garden, Probus events and of course golf with her and Bob. Take comfort in knowing your Mom enjoyed life to the fullest.
