In memory of

Lyall Bakelmun

December 13, 1931 -  August 14, 2022

Lyall passed away peacefully at home on Sunday August 14, 2022 at the age of ninety one. He is survived by his wife Sylvia, three children, Rosanne, Tyrone and Gail, seven grandchildren, Elyse, Desiree, Ryan, Brittany, Jessica, Emily and Rachel and three great grandchildren, Jacob, Haven and Jocelyn.
Lyall immigrated to Canada from Sri Lanka in 1964, following his brother Malcolm and was then joined by family and friends. He and Sylvia settled in Scarborough in 1968 where they lived for fifty four years, raising their family and watching it grow, entertaining friends and being part of a community of wonderful neighbours. They were parishioners of the Annunciation Church and were lead through life as devoted members of the Catholic faith.
Lyall was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and he was the eldest living relative to many. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his generosity, kindness and wise nature. May he rest in peace.
Viewing will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday August 23, followed by the service at 1:00pm. All family and friends are invited to attend and pay their last respects to Lyall. In lieu of flowers, Lyall expressed gratitude towards any donations to the Lung Association of Canada (lung.ca)
