In memory of

Luzviminda Dabu "Lucy" Rodillas

February 23, 1948 -  August 31, 2025

Luzviminda Rodillas, known to friends as Luz or Lucy, to her family as “Neng,” and to her sisters as "Apu Aba", she was born on February 23, 1948, and passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband Benny, her son Matt, her sisters Carolina, Angelita, Estrella, Elena, and Theresa, her Princess (Monnette), Nieces, Nephews, and many Grandnieces and Grandnephews. Though she did not have grandchildren of her own, she embraced the role of a grandmother with love and joy to many of her friends’ children, who cherished her as their own.

Luz had a true gift for bringing people together. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aromas of her cooking, and she delighted in preparing meals that turned every gathering into a celebration. More than her dishes, it was her warmth, kindness, and generosity that made everyone feel welcome and loved in her presence.

Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, in the laughter shared around her table, and in the countless lives she touched with her gentle spirit. Luz will be remembered not only for her devotion to her loved ones, but also for the joy, love, and compassion she so freely gave.

** In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that you donate in Luz' memory to the Sinai Health Foundation.

Our thoughts are with you all in this difficult time. We never got a chance to meet you in person but in knowing how loving and caring your son is we can only imagine what an amazing woman you also were.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mom was an amazing cook and an amazing woman. She made me feel so welcomed when I first came to Canada. I learned how to cook adobo which was my favorite and I used to help her with putting the pork on the BBQ sticks. We had many many talks about her life and how she met Dad. She always spoke about him with so much love in her eyes. She will be greatly missed. Matt, I'm here for you if you need an old friend to help you through your loss. Be strong and know she is now both of your guardian angels. Xoxo

We are deeply saddened by Luz’s passing. Over the years, our families have shared so many wonderful memories together—camping, picnics, fishing—and she was always a source of strength, comfort, and joy to those around her. We will always cherish the special honor when Luz and Benny asked us to be one of Mathew’s godparents.
Luz’s faith, kindness, and strong spirit touched all of us. Though it is hard to imagine this loss, we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in God’s loving embrace. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
She will forever be remembered with love for the friendship, warmth, and faith she shared with us.
With love and deepest sympathy,
Ben, Amy & Family
