In memory of

Lutz Kurt Bruno Mittag

February 10, 1937 -  July 12, 2019

Lutz Kurt Bruno Mittag passed away with loved ones at his side Friday July 12, 2019 at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ontario.

Born February 10, 1937 in Berlin, Germany, Lutz came to call Canada his home in 1958. Shortly thereafter, he married, Hildegard (nee Richter) on August 28, 1965 and together they raised two daughters.

Lutz went on to be successful in a career he loved driving street car for the TTC for 25 years where he was known as "the king of the road" for the length of time he drove on King Street in Toronto. Given his love of life and people, his time at the TTC was the perfect transition for his post retirement 'gig' as a DJ at Radio Herz. His booming voice and big personality suited both careers perfectly.

Lutz will be fondly remember and missed by his wife Hildegard (Richter), daughters Sylvia (Jim Livingstone) Elkerton, Andrea (Rod) Hooey, his four grandchildren Stephanie, Christopher, Jordon, Mitchell, his great grandson Courtlen and his siblings Gerhardt (predeceased Erika), Burkhard (Lilo) and Ortrud (predeceased Heinz). He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and their families.

A funeral service for Lutz will be held on Wednesday July 17, 2019 at The Simple Alternative Funeral Center in Mississauga located at 1535 South Gateway Road. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 am with service immediately to follow. There will be a small reception held after the service. Internment has been arranged for immediate family. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

My Brother Lutz was a fun Person to grow up with, he was of nothing afraid of and he always got what he was after. Lutz loved Party’s and he loved to sing to all the German drinking Songs. At his Christmas Party’s he played Christmas Carols on his Keyboard and we all hummed with the Tunes. Lutz loved to tell a good Joke or listen to one. We both worked for the T.T.C. and we was liked and respected by everyone. I get big Comfort in knowing that he will not suffer no more and Rest In Peace. In our Mind we all will miss him in our Hearts he will never be forgotten. 🙏🙏I love you Lutz ❤️❤️❤️

My friend, may you find peace on your last journey. I'll never forget the great time we had together when I visited Canada several times. You were and will always be a close friend. Rest in peace, my friend.
