In memory of

Luke Ling Wah Yan

December 1, 1931 -  August 23, 2018

Our beloved father, Luke Yan, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the age of 86. He fought a 10-year long battle with prostate, and later, bone cancer. He was in hospital for about 3 months, triggered by the side-effects of chemotherapy. He eventually succumbed to the general progression of the cancer. He was comfortable and at peace.

Dad lived a long and fruitful life, filling many people around him with much joy through his immense love, patience, gentleness, and generosity. He often demonstrated his life very simply through his actions. Though he was a man of few words, he often shared "one-line" (but very meaningful) wisdom.

Dad committed his life many years ago to Jesus Christ, his Lord and Saviour, growing up with parents of strong faith. He reaffirmed his commitment through immersion baptism in 2004 at the age of 72. He was a regular participant in Sunday School class, helping others to understand the Bible. The Lord has been very good to dad, granting him enough time and strength to see his granddaughter born and begin growing up. For those who believe in Jesus, we will see him again one day.

We hope that you will join us on Saturday to celebrate dad's life and share a bit of his testimony and life story.
