Loan Thi Nguyen, 68, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2018 with her family by her side. She courageously fought liver and heart diseases for over 15 years.

In 1950, Loan Thi Nguyen was born in Vinh Long, Vietnam. She escaped the Vietnam war by fleeing the war torn country by boat in the middle of the night with only the clothes on her body. After her long and treacherous journey she eventually settled in Canada where she became a seamstress to provide for her family.

Loan Thi Nguyen is survived by her daughter, Nancy Le, and son in law, Jonathan Reyes. Her siblings, Nguyen Thi Truong, Nguyen Van Chi, Nguyen Thi Ke, Nguyen Thi Thuy, Nguyen Van Hung and Nguyen Thi Thanh Van. She is also survived by her dog Angel and many nieces and nephews along with their children. She is predeceased by her siblings Nguyen Van Diep, Nguyen Van Cuu and Nguyen Van Dung.

Visitation is scheduled for 8:00am on April 14, 2018 at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre with funeral to follow at 10:00am.
