In memory of

黃廖佩瓊夫人 Liu Pui King Wong

December 25, 1927 -  January 22, 2023

Wong Liu Pui King passed away into the arms of her Heavenly Father at the age of 95 on the morning of Sunday, January 22nd, 2023, after a courageous battle with pneumonia.

Pui King was born in Hong Kong on December 25th, 1927, and was a loving sister to her two brothers, Ming Shum and Wah Hong. During the Second World War, she enrolled in a nursing program at Nethersole Hospital at the age of 16 and enjoyed a successful stint as an OB-GYN nurse. In 1955, she married Wong Chin Kong. Shortly after they welcomed their son, Daniel In-Jea, followed by their eldest daughter, Elizabeth In-Ka, and youngest daughter, Alice In-Wing. Pui King later changed specialties and became a Tuberculosis nurse and worked at a local chest clinic in order to raise and spend more time with her children.

After retiring, she moved to Canada in 1991 with her husband before emigrating back to Hong Kong in 2005.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Daniel (Lucia) and Alice (Nelson), and her grandchildren, Esther, James, and Lois.

Pui King was predeceased by her husband, Chin Kong in 1994, and her eldest daughter, Elizabeth in 2008.

Dear Daniel and Alice,

I am deeply saddened by the news of auntie's passing. I am glad that I had a chance to see her last time I was in Hong Kong in 2019. Please accept my deepest condolences. This must be a difficult time for you. I hope you will find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with your father. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
