BURNETT, Linda Ruth

Passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on July 18, 2018 at the age of 73. Loving wife of Dale for over 49 years. Cherished mom of David (Steph) and Darin. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Ruth and by her brother Doug. Linda was a loving sister in law of Paul(Whilhelmina), Hayden(Barb), Byron, Lyn(Janet) and Yvonne. She was admired aunt of Janet, Perry and Scott and will also be missed by many extended relatives and friends. Linda will be forever remembered for her zest for life, love of socializing, culinary skills and, passion of golf. She was very proud to be a secondary school teacher for most of her life and her memory will resonate in the minds of the students with whom she connected. Visitation will take place at THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE (1200 Thornton Road, North, Oshawa(905-579-6787) on Thursday, July 26 from 6-8 pm and on Friday, July 27 from 12 noon until time of celebration of life at 1 pm in the Chapel. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the charity of choice. The Burnett family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Palliative Care Team for the compassion, care and professionalism shown to Linda and her family.

Linda was a cherished friend and cousin, taken from us far too soon.
She was always upbeat and good natured and was fun to have along on trips we shared, one being to Germany, France, England, and Scotland.
Gail & I offer our deep condolences to Dale and the family for their loss.
She may be gone from our house but not from our memories.
