In memory of

Li Juan Liang

May 22, 1957 -  March 3, 2021

It breaks our hearts to announce that on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021, Li Juan Liang passed away at the age of 63, after a year-long valiant battle with cancer. Li Juan peacefully slipped away at home, surrounded by her two children, Kenny and Elaina Kuang, her partner, William Lam, and her son-in-law, Falk Hänsel. She is survived by her father 陳耀章, mother 李杏芳, four sisters and two brothers. Li Juan, socially named Eva, was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.

Li Juan will be fondly remembered by many for her graceful presence, gentle nature and gorgeous, eye-catching smile.

She taught her children by showing them her great work ethics, detailed hard work and grit. Her children will especially remember her unconditional love, deep devotion to family, generous affections and heartwarming home-cooked meals.

Despite life's hardships, Li Juan persevered through all obstacles with impressionable inner strength, courage and determination; and she was always grateful for all the love and support she had received. Her kindness, charm and zest for life attracted many friends at every stage in her life. Many have enjoyed her generosity and homemade peanut- black sesame brittles. The plethora of interests she pursued included traveling, singing, dancing, numerous forms of craft, playing ping pong, swimming, and joining the Tai Chi club. She especially loved all forms of flowers, joining the Orchid club, volunteering to care for the community garden and tending to her collection of plants indoors and outdoors. Her impressive front yard is well known by her neighbours in Johnsview Village.

We are requesting that those who wish to make a donation in honour of Li Juan to please consider the "Sunnybrook Foundation" or the "Canadian Cancer Society". More importantly, we encourage everyone to please take a moment to celebrate her life by sharing moments and/or photos.

Called her ‘seem’ cause she was of that generation. Remember her as very soft-spoken and kind. Did not know of her battles. That said, she was a true warrior. Let that serve as a lesson to the rest of us.
