Leslie Varga, 85, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022. Leslie was born August 22,1936 in Gornji Lakos, Slovenia. He was born to Vendel and Maria and was the youngest of 6 children. In 1957, with his wife Maria, Leslie completed his journey to Canada. The two settled in Toronto where Leslie began his career in the woodworking industry. After having his daughter Mary, Leslie continued in the woodworking field where he built his own business Leslie’s Woodworking Ltd. He created furniture pieces for friends and family that are still enjoyed by many to this day. Leslie greatly enjoyed spending his time at the cottage and cooking goulash over the fire. He will be remembered for his endless stories accompanied by brandy, wine or beer. He was always around to provide an opinion or supervise your work regardless of if you needed it. Leslie is survived by his daughter Mary and her husband Frank and his grandchildren Stefanie and Jamie.

The family will be holding visitation on Thursday, August 18 from 3-7pm and Friday, August 19 from 9-10am at York Cemetery 160 Beecroft Rd, North York ON M2N 5Z5. A mass and burial will be held at the cemetery on August 19 at 10am.
