In memory of

Leonelyn "Lyn" Miralles

October 7, 1983 -  June 30, 2024

Leonelyn Cabuena Miralles, 40, passed away on Sunday, June 30th, 2024, after a brave and tough battle with breast cancer. Despite her being a fierce spirit and warrior for most of her life, this illness was too fast and aggressive for her small body, which had already endured many challenges and hardships during her human journey.

Lyn was the firstborn child to Leonardo and Apolonia Cabuena on October 7th, 1983, in the Tarlac province of the Philippines. She later grew up in San Pedro City, Laguna, alongside her siblings April, Dennis, Eunice, Geraldine, Mary Lyn, and Mary Lou. As the oldest of seven children, Lyn has always been admired for her tenacity, bravery, and independence. Her siblings are devastated by the loss of their beloved Ate and will miss her for the rest of their lives. Lyn also leaves behind her precious niece Maja Ellie, daughter of April and Siniša, and nephew Traecy, son of Geraldine and Jimmy.

After arriving in Canada and helping to care for her grandmother Leonila, Lyn joined her cousin Eden in 2011 to learn how to groom dogs. She was instrumental in the rapid growth and expansion of Dogs & Goddesses, where she gained the trust, respect, and love of customers and their beloved furbabies alike. Lyn’s pure love for animals was evident in how eagerly many of the pets under her care looked forward to seeing her.

Lyn is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, Socrates Miralles, and their beautiful children, Anaiah (age 7) and Asher (age 5). Lyn’s life was fulfilled not only by her absolute love and devotion to animals but especially as a loving, nurturing, and devoted mother. Lyn’s greatest wish was for Anaiah and Asher to continue to be surrounded by love, guided, and cared for as she did for them. Her family is committed to ensuring that her children will always know the amazing person their mother was and to follow in her footsteps.

Lyn’s kindness and loving nature will always be remembered and greatly missed by her family and those whose lives she touched during her all-too-short life. Please join us in celebrating her life on Thursday, July 4th, 2024, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 1535 South Gateway Road, Mississauga.

I love you and miss you more than words can describe. I see you everywhere and I’m probably going to be in shock and hurt for a long while as the thought of not being able to hear your voice or get a response from you has become the reality. I will forever consider you my sister and my kindred spirit. Rest in peace, beloved Lyn-Lyn..please know that I am determined to always be there for Anaiah and Asher. Nothing can ever replace you. We will make sure they know the immense love you have for them as they continue their journey with you as their guardian Angel. Love you more, ading. Thank you for everything 🙏🏼💕💕🐾
