In memory of

Lennox Mervyn Morgan

February 25, 1947 -  June 25, 2023

Lennox Mervyn Morgan died peacefully on Sunday, June 25th, 2023, after a brief battle with our collective foe, Cancer. His loving children were by his side when he took his final breath and started his journey home.

Born on February 25th, 1947, in Point-A-Pierre, Trinidad & Tobago, Mervyn was the youngest child to his mother, Elaria “Tante Jess”Morgan, and his father, Aaron Frank Morgan. He was the cherished and pampered little brother to Faith, Veronica, Welcome and Hamilton. He was extremely close to his his uncle Timothy’s children and his other cousins, who were like his bonus siblings. He was the adored “Uncle/Cousin Mervyn” to his countless nieces, nephews and cousin’s kids in Trinidad, the U.S, the U.K and Canada. Mervyn loved his family and friends (who were like family) and was often the consummate host of gatherings where you would hear his infectious laugh from down the street – you would also hear the music blasting but that is another story.

He loved hard and often, some would say too often, as he was a bit of a ladies' man who’s smile could charm a nurse into bringing him home cooked food on his second day in his palliative care home. He loved to eat, didn’t he?! He was a brilliant man, very smart, who could hold strong in any discussion or debate with the brightest and the best of them. He was a proud man (maybe too proud), who didn’t like to accept help, but would be the first one to help someone if he could. The one thing his pride didn’t fail him on was his pride in being a father to his son Abeid and his daughter Abena. Anybody who knew Mervyn Morgan knew about his kids. He loved them more than anything else in the world, aside for his grandson Aaron, who he had wished he could stay around longer to see grow up.

While we are deeply saddened that he has left us, we rejoice in the fact that he is finally at peace. Life’s ups and downs had presented him with so much uneasiness in his later years that we know he deserves this rest and reunion with his dear parents, brothers, sister, wife Esla, Cousins Andy and George, and all those he loved who have made the journey home before him. They were probably all waiting for him with a glass of favourite rum or scotch with open arms. Rest Easy Dad!

En lieu of flowers we kindly ask that you make a donation to any charity of your choice in his honour.
