In memory of

Leah Teresa Idalina Fernandes

August 30, 2002 -  April 18, 2019

A beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Leah left this world unexpectedly, at age 16, on April 18, 2019. Born in Toronto, Ontario on August 30, 2002 to George and Lynette Fernandes, Leah grew up in Toronto and attended Churchill Public School, St. Edward Catholic School and Loretto Abbey Catholic Secondary School.

With her long dark hair, big beautiful brown eyes and a huge contagious smile, Leah would light up any room she was in. She brought love, laughter and joy to every person she came in contact with. She always gave of herself to others and brightened their lives in so many ways.

Leah was a phenomenal artist, a lover of fashion, she enjoyed sports especially soccer, and she loved dancing and listening to music.

Leah had so much goodness, so much capacity to bring happiness to others and such a bright future. The world is a lesser place without her. Her presence in our lives will be sorely missed.

When you think of Leah, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.

We know we will reunite with our little angel in heaven some day.

Leah is survived by her loving parents George & Lynette, sister Dana, grandparents Tony & Ida and Angelica and her many aunts, uncles & cousins.

In Lieu of Flowers the family requests a donation be made in Leah’s name to Kids Help Line: Team Leah. We are welcoming everyone to walk with Team Leah on May 5th with Walk So Kids Can Talk! Register and/or donate through this link: https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx?teamID=865529

We would also like to collect memories of Leah to keep her in our hearts. We know that Leah affected so many people in ways we can't begin to understand and seeing these sides of her would bring us so much joy. If you have any stories, photos, videos or anything that reminds you of her we would be grateful if you are willing to share these with us. We greatly welcome all memories and would love to hold on to them!
