<div itemprop="description">After a long and very courageous battle with cancer, Lawrence W. Amyotte, age 70, of Mississauga. passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18 at Ian Anderson House with family at his side. Born in Toronto on January 21, 1945 to Wendell and Patricia Amyotte (nee Welechenko), he is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Rebecca Amyotte (nee Stone), and his wonderful loving children, Rachelle and her husband Joel Brown and Matthew Amyotte. His adorable 22 month old grandchild, Emmett Brown brought so much joy into his life along with his grandpuppies, Jingle and Chevy. He was dearly loved by his Sister Brenda Rennie (nee Amyotte) and the late John Rennie. He is also mourned by his Sister and Brother-in-Law, Joy and Jack Archibald and his nieces, Wendy Archibald, Terri Rennie, nephew Ryan Rennie and grandnephew Ashton. He was sincerely loved and will be greatly missed. <br /> <br />He began his career as a police officer and moved to sales and marketing for the remainder of his career. From a young age he was a professional musician (guitar), classic car enthusiast, coin and stamp collector and animal lover and spent many years as a volunteer for March of Dimes. <br /> <br />A very sincere thank you to Dr. Benjamin, the nurses, staff and volunteers at Ian Anderson House for their exceptional care and compassion. <br /> <br />A visitation will be held at MEADOWVALE CEMETERY &amp; VISITATION CENTRE, 7732 Mavis Rd., Brampton (north of HWY 407 and south of Steeles Ave., 905-451-3716) on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. <br /> <br />In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ian Anderson House or Heart House Hospice who have helped so much throughout this challenging journey. <br /></div>
