In memory of

Lac Chau

April 21, 1952 -  January 29, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family of Lac Chau announce his peaceful passing on January 29, 2023 at the age of 70 years.

Lac will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Muoi Lam; children, Richard, Sher-Yuan and Diana; grandchildren, Nathan, Emma and Mason.

Lac Chau was born in Saigon, Vietnam on April 21, 1952. He left Vietnam with his family in 1980 to escape the war. He reached St. John, NB, with the help of sponsors and eventually settled in Toronto. He has worked hard to provide for his family and put them first so they can have a better life. In the 1990s, he owned and managed a donut shop until he started to work for Sunrise Medical and retired at the age of 70 years after 25 years of service.

Lac was a caring, generous, resourceful and dependable person. He dedicated his life in taking care of his family. He was the jack of all trades and is always there to rescue his family in need. Aside from family life, he enjoyed fishing and kept aquarium fishes as a hobby.

Funeral services will be held at Elgin Mills Cemetery. 1591 Elgin Mills Road East.
Please find Funeral Details and Map below.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SickKids hospital (www.sickkidsfoundation.com), the charity that Lac often donated to.

Dear Chau Family,
Extending my deepest condolences for the loss of your dear husband, father and grandfather. I was so sad to hear of Mr. Chau’s passing. Richard and I attended elementary school together and I remember seeing Mr Chau at our grade 8 graduation and the fact that he was the one to take the only photo I have from that night. I cherish that picture to this day and am so grateful for his thoughtfulness to even take it. Richard, Sher-Yuan, Diana, may your memories comfort you during this time of mourning.
