In memory of

Kin Wah Chan

May 17, 1965 -  October 18, 2025

With profound sadness and gratitude for his life, we announce the peaceful passing of Kin Wah Chan on October 18, 2025, at the age of 60, surrounded by his loving family.

Kin Wah was a devoted husband, father, brother, and son whose life was defined by hard work, perseverance, and love. Born in Hong Kong, he began working at the age of 14 alongside his father in construction to support his family. After immigrating to Canada in 1989, he continued his career in renovations and contracting.

Despite the many challenges of starting a new life—language barriers, unfamiliar customs, and financial hardships—Kin Wah faced them all with strength and determination. Known for his incredible work ethic, skilful hands, and humble spirit, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. The demanding and unsafe conditions he endured throughout his career ultimately took a toll on his health, yet he never complained and remained steadfast in his devotion to those he loved. Later in life, he found comfort and peace in learning about Jesus, whose love guided him in his final days.

Kin Wah will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 27 years, Mei Lan, his daughter Christy, and his son Bethel, as well as his brothers Charles and Gary, sisters Carol and Maggie, and his parents. His hands built more than homes—they built a lasting foundation of love for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Kin Wah was a hardworking man, known for being a skilled handyman. In addition to his career in renovation, I was always impressed by the many things he could fix —cars, refrigerators, washing machines, conventional ovens — just to name a few.
He lived simply and chose to invest his resources in the well-being of his family. Kin Wah was thoughtful, resourceful, and generous. His logical thinking stood out, and even at his age, he remained diligent and curious, planning to pursue training related to automotive work.
He will be deeply missed. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
May he rest in peace, embraced by the love of God.
May his family be surrounded by love, comfort, and prayers. Wishing them strength, healing and peace in the days ahead.
